Avneet Gaur, MD

Glaucoma and General Ophthalmology

Dr. Avneet Gaur specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of anterior segment diseases including cataracts and glaucoma. She is also trained in performing surgeries with micro-surgical glaucoma devices such as endocyclophotocoagulation and I-Stent. She grew up on the East Coast in Maryland. She received her B.S. in Biology Magna Cum Laude and her medical degree at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

After medical school, she remained in D.C. for a year to complete her internship in Internal Medicine at The George Washington University Hospital; thereafter, she moved to Boston to complete her Ophthalmology residency at Tufts Medical Center/New England Eye Center. She remained in Boston to complete her Glaucoma fellowship at Tufts Medical Center/New England Eye Center under the direction of Dr. Cynthia Mattox, President of the American Glaucoma Society 2015-2016. She has published numerous ophthalmology articles, edited the Grand Rounds Section of Ocular Surgical News, and presented at multiple national research conferences. She is currently is part of the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society, American Glaucoma Society, and American Academy of Ophthalmology.

She is excited to be living in sunny California and in her personal time, she enjoys swimming, cooking, traveling with her husband Robin. She is fluent in Punjabi, and proficient in basic Spanish and Hindi.
