Grace Tran, OD

Medical Optometrist

Dr. Grace Tran earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Art History from the University of California, Irvine in 2003. She then attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago where she earned her doctoral degree in optometry in 2008.

Dr. Tran’s optometric experience includes externships in various locations throughout the United States including the Wilmington Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wilmington, Deleware, the Illinois Eye Institute and the Victor C. Neumann Association in Chicago, Illinois, the Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System-Eastern Blind Rehabilitation Center in West Haven, Connecticut and the Cheyenne Vision Clinic, in Cheyenne Wyoming. In these externships, she gained experience in performing comprehensive and acute care eye examinations on all age groups including infants, pediatrics and adult special population and assessed binocular vision disorders. She has diagnosed, treated and managed anterior and posterior segment diseases, including patient care in glaucoma, retina and neuro-ophthalmology. In addition, she has co-managed patients for refractive surgery and cataract extraction. Dr. Tran has had the honor of teaching in various institutions as an attending and assistant clinical instructor such as Casey Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon and the State University of New York College of Optometry and Lighthouse International. Throughout her specialty, Dr. Tran has enjoyed lecturing on topics such as Low-Vision Rehabilitation and Age-Related Macular Degeneration. During her residency in 2008, she was given the Richard J. O’Brien II Memorial optometric residency award.

Dr. Tran is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, conversant in German and Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys biking, painting, photography and stationery design.
